Thomas Scott Baldwin, holder of Dirigible Balloon Pilot license #1, is also credited with the invention of the first practical parachute, in 1885, although he never bothered to patent his idea.

Used various engines 60 hp Hall-Scott V-8, Curtiss, and 75 hp Rausie

Baldwin used steel tubing for the structure of the Red Devil.

W. R. Badger was the owner and pilot of the aircraft in the following photo. This photo was taken at the 1911 Chicago Aviation Meet. W. R. Badger lost his life in an accident at the meet on Aug 15, 1911.
