1921 Boeing Model 10, GA-1, aka G.A.X

A ground attack aircraft designed by the Engineering Division of the US Army Air Service at McCook Field.

According to Peter M Bowers' book, Boeing Aircraft since 1916, ten were built. These were delivered by rail to Kellet Field, TX. Two gunners were enclosed by armor in the two engine nacelle. The aircraft was grossly over weight and crew visibility was poor. "All a commander had to do to keep exuberant young pilots on their best behavior was to threaten to assign them to the triplane." Has the distinction of being the last production three-winger in the world.
