1939 C.C.2 aka N.1

This aircraft had a 900 hp Isott-Fraschini in the fuselage driving a variable pitch ducted-fan compressor supplying air to a after burner. Could be flown with only the ducted-fan.

This "Jet-like" propulsion was invented in 1931 by the Italian aeronautics engineer Secondo Campini. Sometime called a thermo-jet. This jet was tested on a jet-powered boat in Venice.

This is the second prototype.
