1916 Fairey Hamble Baby N1452

Designed from the Sopwith Baby.

One of the first production aircraft to have wing flaps. Referred to at the time as Fairey camber-changing gear. Both top and bottom wing had a control surface which operated as a flap and aileron. Referred to today as "flaperons". The flaps provided some addition lift at low speed to help unstick the float from the water.
