46-686 crashed May 9, 1952 during low-level aerobatics over Edwards AFB, killing the pilot.

46-685 was used in the film "Toward the Unknown" as the fictitious "Gilbert XF-120".

46-685 crashed on takeoff from El Paso, TX Mar 25, 1956. It was en-route to Eglin AFB to shoot additional footage when it crashed. Both crew members killed.
