The following information is from Johan Visschedijk.
The aircraft was built in France in 1946 for the French AF as a SNCAN (Nord) 1002 Pingouin II.
After withdrawn from the French AF it came on the civil register as F-BGCB, later on the German register as D-EGHA.
When sold to the USA, its new owner had it registered as a Messerschmidt Bf 108, with the registration N108BF.
It left Germany for the USA in September 1970, after receiving a Luftwaffe livery it appeared in Hollywood movies, including the movie Hindenburg.
It made its last flight in the USA in May 1978, it was stored for over three decades, eventually sold back to France, where it arrived in September 2012.
After a restoration of over nine years, and registered as Nord 1002 Pingouin II F-AZFY (c/n 202) it was flown again on February 4, 2022.
