The Skycycle was another of the proposals announced in the Autumn of 1944. An aerodynamic test airframe was built to which a small two cylinder Franklin 2-AC-99 engine was fitted, it had s/n 1 and the registration NX47Y. This aircraft was completed on the 8th of July and was initially known as the Cub Cycle and attempted to get airborne on the 27th of August 1944, but failed The Franklin engine was replaced by a 37 hp Continental A40-3 and still failed to get airborne with this engine on the 12th of September 1944. It was this Continental powered version that was proposed for the Skycycle at the end of hostilities. It had a fabric covered mid wing, single engine, single seat with tail-wheel undercarriage. The fuselage was made from the droppable belly fuel tank as fitted to the U.S. Navy Vought F4U Corsair fighter aircraft.
