info from 1000aircraftphotos.com

This aircraft belonged to 'Team America'. The very successful aerobatic formation team was formed by Charles 'Chuck' Lischer in 1984 and existed through 1996. While Chuck owned and flew the lead plane number '1' (registered N941TA), team members Brian Sanders and Barney Register owned and flew the plane numbers '3' (NX942TA) and '2' (NX943TA) respectively. N943TA was the first of twelve aircraft manufactured in 1971 for the AF of the Congo and test flown registered as I-SYAA, subsequently it was delivered to the Congo with the serial AT-101.

I recall Barney tell me that they had larger engines , 340 hp TIO-540, in the two following aircraft in order to make it easier to close on the number 1 aircraft if needed. Thus the "NX".
