1937 Spartan Executive, NC17605, sn 7W-10

This Spartan was originally built as a 7W-F which was armed version with two guns mounted in the nose, one in an open station aft and wing racks for ten 25 lbs bombs. After being unsuccessful with the military acceptance tests, it was returned to model 7W configuration and sold to Bodine Drilling Co. It was impressed by USAAF Jul 7, 1942 as a UC-71, 42-68361 but returned with the original registration numbers, NC17605. This aircraft is still on the FAA registration. I took some photos of it at the Oshkosh EAA flyin in 1974.
