SM-1 NC875, c/n M201

This Stimson was used for attempted round the world flight in 1927 flown by William Brock and Edward Schlee. The flight departed Harbour Grace, Newfoundland on August 27. The air strip was built at Harbor Grace just for this flight. The air strip at Harbour Grace would continue to be used for a number of trans Alantic flights several of which were fatal.

Their world flight attempt was terminated in Japan. By this time there had been many lives lost in transoceanic flights. Ten people were lost in the August 1927 race from California to Hawaii. As a results of these loses, the US Navy rescinded its offer to help with Brock and Sechlee's flight.

The Stinson was loaded onto a ship bound for San Francisco.
