1930 Towle TA-3

two 225 hp Packard DR-980 Diesels

Tom Towle was the designer of the Ford tri-motor 4AT. The wings on the TA-3 were a scaled down version of the 4AT wings. Using Tom's own airfoil, TT-2 at the root and TT-1 at the tip.

Leased to Koehler Airlines. Sold to A. J. Williams of West Palm Beach, FL, July 1932. Used for bootlegging, Florida to Bahamas. The DR-980 were replaced with Wright J-6. Destroyed by a tropical storm at a pier, Bimini Island, Feb 1933.
