Some time in the late 1950s Graham Air Base at Marianna Florida was threatened by a hurricane. Since there was not enough time to fly all the aircraft north to safety, all the Pipers were stacked on their noses in the two large hangars. With some space in the hangar remaining, a few T-6s were stored inside. The remaining T-6s that did not get into one of the hangars were jacked up and set down on sand bags. As it turned out, the hurricane did very little damage at Graham.
