On it's first attempt of the transatlantic flight, this aircraft was lost due to a cracked in the oil tank. The aircraft turned around and headed back to Spain. It had to ditch about 70 km from the Spanish coast. A German merchant ship rescued the crew and pulled the aircraft out of the water, but it was damaged.

Idzikowski and Kubala repeated this trial the next year. They took off July 13, 1929 from Le Bourget. After flying 2,140 km, over the ocean, the engine started to lose power, becoming noisy. They decided to land on Faial Island of the Azores. However, Idzikowski decided to make an emergency landing on a closer rocky island Graciosa. On landing, the aircraft hit a stone wall and overturned. In the crash, Ludwik Idzikowski was killed, Kubala was injured. During a rescue action, the aircraft burned.
