Bell L-39

Two P-39As were modified with swept wings for the U.S. Navy. The following information is from Joe Baugher's web site.

90060 Bell L-39-1 P-63A-9 experimentally modified with swept wings for US Navy Serial reassigned from cancelled RY-3 batch. Assigned to NACA Langley Memorial Aeronautical Laboratory, later as NACA Langley Research Center, Langley Field, VA Aug 22, 1946 to Dec 12, 1949. Assigned to NACA Aircraft Engine Research Laboratory, Lewis Field, Cleveland, OH Dec 12, 1949. 90061 Bell L-39-2 P-63A-9 experimentally modified with swept wings for US Navy Serial reassigned from cancelled RY-3 batch. Some sources have these as 90061 and 90062, but I have seen a photo of 90060. Assigned to NACA Langley Memorial Aeronautical Laboratory, later as NACA Langley Research Center, Langley Field, VA Dec 11, 1946 to Dec 12, 1949 Assigned to NACA Aircraft Engine Research Laboratory, Lewis Field, Cleveland, OH Dec 12, 1949.
