1938 Bushey-McGrew B7M1 NX98Y

200 hp Menasco C-4

The Bushey McGrew NX98Y was rebuilt from a Keith-Rider R-2 and flown in the Nationals in 1938 by George Dory. In the Greve Trophy Race, the engine malfunctioned and Dory landed on 227th St. in Cleveland. The R-2 was completely destroyed and Dory was seriously injured when the aircraft ran into some trees. It was co-owned by McGrew, Charles "Chuck" Fremont McGrew III, who was the husband of actress Jean Harlow
