90hp Wright-Gipsy
Information from Johan Visschedijk,
Registered as G-CYXC to the Canadian Department of National Defense on May 6, 1929, the pictured aircraft was delivered to the RCAF on October 17, 1929. It was powered by an 80 hp A.D.C. Cirrus II and it was experimentally fitted with Handley Page slats, the only RCAF Rambler to have this device. In October 1930 it was redesignated Rambler Mk.I after being re-engined with a 90 hp Wright Gipsy. On March 7, 1932 it was reregistered CF-CDY, and two years later, March 26, 1934, it was loaned to the Brandon Flying Club. On July 12, 1934, upon takeoff from a farmer's field at Napinka, Manitoba, it stalled, crashed and was destroyed.
