Curtiss Model 84, first flight Dec 18, 1940. Never left manufacturer's trials for US Navy testing. Crashed Feb 8, 1941 due to engine failure during approach. Sustained damage to fuselage but was repaired. Destroyed after suffering inflight wing failure Dec 21, 1941.
