3000 hp Fiat AS.6 consisted of two AS.5 V-12s bolted together driving a contra-rotating propellers. The contra-rotating props eliminated the propeller torque reaction. For these high powered seaplane with the usual propellers the torque could be so severe that it would practically bury one of the floats. Some of these seaplanes even had a slightly larger float on one side. Needless to say, direction control could be a big issue. But with a big lake they did not have to go perfectly stright for the start of the take off run.
