3/8-scale prototype of USN XPBM-1 Mariner. Originally built as a 1/4 scale model of a canceled Navy model 160. The two props are driven by belts from the fuselage mounter engine.

Engine was originally built by The Chevrolet Brothers Aircraft Company, owned by Swiss immigrants Arthur and Louis Chevrolet. Designated Model D-4, the engine was certificated in December 1929, and became known as the Chevrolair.
When Chevrolet Brothers Aircraft Company failed the engine design sold to the Glenn L. Martin Company. It was improved and renamed the Martin 333.
This aircraft is still in existence at the Baltimore Museum of Industry.
