Took off Aug 17, 1946 from Bedford AAF, Massachusetts to participate in an air show escorting a B-29. Went out of control and crashed on tracks of Boston and Maine Railroad just ahead of a train bound from Boston to Chicago. Train engineer was able to stop the train before hitting the wrec.
