Planet Aircraft Company operated as a subsidiary of the liquor company Distillers Company Ltd (makers of Gordon's Gin and Black Label Whisky).
Landing gear collapsed on the first "hop". After repairs a second "hop" was made to only 20 ft. However the main keel of the fuselage was cracked. The project was abandoned.
The fuselage of the second prototype, G-ALXP, was incorporated into the Firth Helicopter. An experimental helicopter built in 1952. This project was abandoned also.
