Aerofiles states that this aircraft was rebuilt from a Emsco B-4, X846N, to test the Deeble Double-Action engine.
The Deeble Double-Action engine is a six cylinder inverted air cooled in-line engine. Each cylinder embodies two combustion chambers. One combustion chamber is of the usual design, L-head configuration in this case. The second combustion chamber is inside the piston which slides over fixed cylindrical "bulkhead". The total displacement is 927 in3. The horse power is listed as 300.
