The Airline Transportation Company was formed in 1921 by L. E. Hardy and in November of that year service was started using a Standard J-1 airplane. The route was between Los Angeles and El Centro. In 1922 an eight passenger cabin plane was ordered from Rogers Aircraft Company and was delivered in August. Named the "Airline Arrow' it was placed in service but did not give satisfactory performance and the airline was later abandoned.
