Crash on The Island of Molokai, Hawaii 7-15-1927. After a flight from Oakland, CA.
This flight took place about a month before the Dole Derby. At the time it did not have a registration assigned to it. It was only identified by its serial number, 160.
The airplane was sold by Pacific Air Transport to Ernest Smith. Ernest Smith and Emory Bronte were pilot and navigator for the flight to Hawaii July 14-15, 1927. It was wrecked on landing on Molokai after 25 hours and 36 minutes. The pilot and navigator were uninjured.
It was returned to the US and repaired. One source states that it became NC2615.
